Fuel the future of Black-led research and scholarship
The Black Research Network is forging connections, amplifying world-changing research and sparking interdisciplinary collaborations between Black scholars.

Black scholars at the University of Toronto are undertaking some of the most vital research and scholarship in Canada—exciting work that belongs on a global stage. In 2020, U of T’s Anti-Black Racism Task Force recommended a central hub for these scholars to connect and collaborate with one another. The Black Research Network (BRN)—the first of its kind in Canada—is doing just that.
The Black Research Network will ensure that Black scholars have the support they need to flourish. The network is poised to reduce barriers, spark unprecedented collaborations, and advance Black research globally.
