Bring quality dental care to underserved Canadians

The Faculty of Dentistry’s Rossy Clinic will improve the oral health of a vast, diverse population in the GTA and beyond.

Dental care can be prohibitively expensive. Even with the recently enacted Canadian Dental Care Plan, many Canadians struggle to access care.

Through its community program, the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto serves vulnerable populations, including the working poor. But to meet the growing needs of the community, the faculty needs to renew and reconfigure its largest patient clinic in downtown Toronto.

To that end, the faculty has plans to revitalize its largest teaching clinic to help even more patients—and is looking to others in the community to bring the project to fruition. Once completed, The Rossy Clinic will help provide cutting-edge care to thousands of patients in Toronto’s downtown core while providing the faculty’s talented future dental professionals with hands-on experience.

Located in downtown Toronto, next to some of the world’s top research and teaching hospitals, the faculty’s dental clinics enhance the health of North America’s 4th largest city—and change lives every day.

Interim Dean, Faculty of Dentistry

As Canada’s most highly ranked, first, largest and most comprehensive dental school, the Faculty of Dentistry at U of T has an enormous impact on the health of the diverse communities it serves. Its 14 dental clinics essentially form a dental hospital serving 15,000 patients—totalling 90,000 appointments—filling 263 chairs annually.

The revitalized Rossy Clinic will offer patients greater privacy and efficiency of care in state-of-the-art learning spaces. Most importantly, it will help the faculty improve the oral health of thousands of marginalized people. Your support for this critical facility will help draw top students and talent to Toronto and improve access to essential dental care for underserved Canadians.
