FCCP Education Foundation supports new nursing scholarship at U of T

The Federation of Chinese Canadian Professionals (FCCP) Education Foundation has renewed their commitment to nursing education with the creation of the new FCCP Education Foundation Nursing Scholarship.
The award will be given to second year BScN students at the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty on the basis of academic merit in their first year, and will provide important financial aid for nursing students about to enter the profession.
Supporting nursing students as they prepare to graduate helps them stay focused on their goals and enables some of the best and brightest students in the nursing field to realize their dreams of a rewarding career in healthcare.
David Sin, the past Vice-President of the FCCP Education Foundation says that supporting nursing education has always been a key priority for the foundation, and that there is a deep understanding that nursing is an integral piece of the health care system.
“We have always felt that nursing was an important profession, and we have also seen that it is a profession that can often be overlooked. By creating this scholarship and renewing our commitment to the Faculty of Nursing at U of T, we are acknowledging our support for a profession that we know will benefit many people, especially those in need of access to health care,” says Sin.
The FCCP Education Foundation first became involved with Bloomberg Nursing in the early 2000’s when they established two funds – one in support of newly admitted nursing students, and the other for nurses specializing in cancer care.
